Raymond Tailoring Initiatives
Raymond has been upskilling the tailors’ community through knowledge dissemination on high-end tailoring and quality trims. The Raymond Centre of Tailoring Excellence takes the lead in training, research & innovation in the concerned field. Apart from decoded style guides for Tailors, Raymond has been publishing a magazine (bilingual-English & Hindi) called THIYA exclusively dedicated to Tailors Community.
Kaun Banega Master Stylist (KBMS) is a platform for identifying top Master Stylists in the country through a national contest and is held with a gala fashion show at Thane with exciting prizes and job opportunities.
In collaboration with Maharashtra Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), Raymond has also conducted several tailoring training sessions for under-privileged women tailors to make them financially independent through skill upgradation.
Raymond also helps them in becoming successful micro-entrepreneurs/self-employed individuals by upskilling the practising tailors by way of On The Job Training (OJT) in the shops and their workshops. Apart from this, Raymond also organises group training for Master Tailors on technical and soft skills.
Skilled Tailoring Institute By Raymond
Skilled Tailoring Institute by Raymond (STIR) is a unique employment-linked CSR initiative that is conceptualized to train unemployed youth, women, minority communities and lesser privileged sections of society in the art and science of tailoring.
The initiative aims to upgrade the current skill-set and encourage employment and entrepreneurship amongst the youth.
STIR signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DGE&T (Directorate General of Employment and Training) in 2014.
Currently, there are 3 centres situated in Kolkata, Jaipur & Lucknow.
Skill Development - Raymond Tailoring Hubs
Raymond is also taking measures to create a robust tailoring ecosystem to skill 1 lakh tailors in the next 5 years.
Currently, there are 9 Tailoring Hubs located in Mumbai, Delhi, Bihta, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Nashik, Villupuram, Ranchi and Bengaluru.
Certified 955 tailors under the Skill India Initiative and there is a plan to train 20 thousand tailors during the year 2017-18.
Raymond Rehabilitation Center
The Raymond Rehabilitation Center focuses on the welfare of underprivileged children over the age of 16 and was set up in the year 2006 at Jekegram, Thane.
The three-month vocational courses comprise basic training in electrical, air-conditioning and refrigeration repair, tyre puncture and repair, plumbing etc. which enable students to be independent and financially self-sufficient.
These courses are conducted by the finest faculty from the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) set up under the Directorate of Vocational Education and Industrial Training, Government of Maharashtra.
A Raymond Rehabilitation Center was set up in Chhindwara in 2013 to rehabilitate tribals from adjoining villages.
